I bought the CD and DVD combo today. Watched the DVD and Arnel does sound like Steve Perry somewhat.... but, I also agree on some of the high notes.. he tends to warble or avoid them at all. But as far as any singer making Neil Schon sound good... get real... I've been a lead vocalist for over 25 years and I can tell you that Neil Schon needs nobody to make him sound good.. He is good. I would give anything to just be able to audition for Journey as my band does 6 of their songs. Trying to fill the shoes that Perry left behind is going to be a challenge for any vocalist. Whoever they decide on... I'll always be listening and singing to Journey.
We the Asian and Hispanic blooded Journey avid fans are happy of having Arnel Pineda as new lead vocalist. Yes, we love Steve Perry as a living legend of the Journey band, give him a break to retire and let new comer get in to continue the legacy of the Journey band…we are waiting for a big concert will happen with Arnel Pineda let see how far he will do…an am sure I’ll buy the new album of the Journey!. Go Journey go! More power we love you and God bless you!

Might as well give Arnel a chance. He needs a break, just like everyone else. I don't even care if they rerecord the hits with him. It will only be like a cover album and no where near the real deal. No one can improve on that. The guys in the band are over the hill themselves and some recogniziion for Arnel might be the best that comes of this, if he doesn't let them blow out his voice. The new material is what I'm interested in. Is Arnel going to make Schon sound good like Perry did?

Sorry NinjaDave Arnel has the job. Nice try but you have too much strain on the high notes and you wobble off pitch.
